Lynn Grant’s classy winner’s interview was praised by golf fans after watching Sebastian Soderberg squander an eight-shot lead in the Scandinavian Mix final.
Soderbergh might have had some champagne on ice ready to celebrate his second DP World Tour victory.
But the 33-year-old endured a brutal final 18 holes at Vasatops Golf Club in Helsingborg.
Soderberg — chasing his first title since 2019 — hit his ball into a bunker heading into the final hole and three-putted from 25 feet.
He missed a par putt that would have won, then slid two feet inside for a bogey that would have forced him into a playoff with Grant, who was 17 under.
Instead, she had a remarkable victory.
And her subsequent remarks won immediate praise.
“I feel really bad for Sebastian right now, to be honest,” she said.
“I don't even know how to describe it, I can't imagine how he felt.
“But at the same time, I'm surprised, very surprised, to be here as champion again, in my hometown – it's amazing.”
This is Grant's second win in the event.
She won here in 2022, becoming the first woman to win the DP World Tour twice.
