Bryson DeChambeau was selected three times DP World Tour winner John Catlin Injuried Charles Howell III's replacement in the Crushers GC lineup Houston LIV Golf this week.
The 33-year-old Catlin has been in good form on the Asian Tour recently, winning the International Series Macau and the PIF-hosted Saudi Open in March and April respectively.
As a result, Catlin leapt to the 2024 Asian Tour Order of Merit and took second place in the International Series Powered by LIV Golf standings.
Catlin, who will replace the injured Howell III after receiving approval from the Crushers GC captain, will get his first taste of 2024 LIV golf at this week’s Houston event.
The American now joins DeChambeau and his teammates Anirban Lahiri and Paul Casey.
The Crushers GC team is the defending champion of the LIV Golf League this season.
Catlin has won three DP World Tour titles, the 2019 Andalucia Masters, the 2020 Irish Open and the 2021 Austrian Golf Open.
As is the case with all LIV golf teams in 2024, when a player is injured or unable to play for personal reasons, the captain may place a substitute player on the bench to accommodate such situations.
Flushing first confirmed the news of Howell III's successor earlier today in Catlin.

“Bryson DeChambeau selected John Catlin to replace the injured Charles Howell III and will make his LIV golf debut for the Crushers this week in Houston.
“John has had a fantastic season on the Asian Tour, winning two tournaments in a row and becoming the first player in Asian Tour history to shoot 59 at the International Series Macau in March.
“He also tops the Order of Merit and is second in the International Series. This week is going to be a big one for the American as he goes up against some of the best players in the world for the biggest prize of his career. I am looking forward to seeing how he performs.”
DeChambeau is 12 Players from the LIV Golf League will travel to the U.S. Open next week at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina.
He enters his third major of the season after two impressive finishes at the Masters (T6) and the PGA Championship (2).
