The chip-in hole-out marked the start of Grant's 11-shot comeback, catching and surpassing Soderberg with a 65, compared with the latter's 77.
It looked like the match was destined for a playoff, but Soderberg missed an easy putt on the final hole.
Wow, nightmare stuff. #VolvoScandinavianHybrid.
Sebastian Soderberg leads Lynn Grant by 11 shots. Sebastian Soderberg shot a 77 and missed this putt on the 18th hole. Lynn closed with a 65. Wow. That's crazy. 😵💫. Congratulations to Lynn for her second @DPWorldTour 🏆 pic.twitter.com/5lv1nIeRLb— Pro Golf Critic (@ProGolfCritic) June 9, 2024
The 11-shot comeback is also the biggest comeback in DP World Tour history.
Grant said:
“To be honest, I feel so sad for Sebastian right now. I don't even know how to describe it. I can't imagine how he feels. At the same time, I'm just amazed.”
The tournament is a joint event between the DPWT and the Ladies European Tour. The two tournaments are held simultaneously, but the women players tee off from different tees.
Grant also won this tournament in 2022 and now has 12 career victories, including one on the LPGA Tour last year.
