Sebastian Soderberg lost an eight-shot lead in the final of the Volvo Cars Scandinavian Mixed Championship in Helsingborg to his fellow Swede Linn Grant.
Soderberg was looking to win his first DP World Tour title since 2019, but his chances of victory were dashed when he shot a 5-over 77.
Grant, who became the first woman to win two DP World Tour titles, shot a 7-under 65, the best score of the day.
Grant pulled off a remarkable win despite starting the day 11 shots behind the leader, and she admitted that despite making history she felt sorry for her compatriot.
“It's mixed emotions,” Grant said, clearly shaken. “I feel so bad for Sebastian right now, to be honest. I don't even know what to say, I can't imagine how he feels.”
“But at the same time, I'm surprised, very surprised, to be here as champion again, in my hometown – it's amazing.”
Grant made more history, becoming the first player in DP World Tour history to come back from 11 shots down on the final day to win.
“To be honest, I just wanted to go out and give myself a chance today. I didn’t even think I had a chance to win, and 11 shots is a huge gap, so I just wanted to go out and make as many birdies as I could.
“I'm like, this is just an unbelievable day. I'm speechless at the moment, I just can't believe it.”
