Britain's Aaron Rai won his first PGA Tour title by two shots at the Wyndham Championship after leader Max Greyserman fell late.
Rye, 29, was four shots behind midway through the back nine in North Carolina but finished with an 18-under 64 to seal the win.
When Gresserman made eagle on his second shot at the par-4 13th hole, he looked to be in a comfortable spot.
But the 29-year-old American suffered quadruple bogey after his tee shot went out of bounds on the 14th hole.
He birdied the next hole, then holed a four-putt at the par-3 16th hole to end his hopes of lifting the trophy.
He finished at 16 under at Sedgefield Country Club.
Most golfers played 36 holes on the final day because of bad weather that disrupted the schedule on the first few days.
Rai, who moved up to 25th in the FedEx Cup standings, said his victory was “truly a dream come true.”
He added: “I feel calm. I know the situation. I just stick to what we do well and do it well.”
American JJ Spaun and Japanese Ryo Hisatsune tied for third at 15 under.
