The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, the DP World Tour's annual pro-am event, is receiving unprecedented attention in the United States this weekend, with big-name players from the PGA Tour and LIV Golf taking part.
Along with Rory McIlroy, Robert McIntyre, Tommy Fleetwood and Billy Horschel, LIV is joined by 14 members, many of whom were inspired by tournament organizer John Rudd A special invitation from Pert.
Rupert is also thought to have brought together PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund chief Yasser Al-Rumayan as amateurs.
On the course, one of England's most popular golfers, Tyrrell Hatton, who had just completed his first season on the LIV Tour, emerged victorious in the event. This qualified him for the end-of-season DPWT Championships in Dubai. Joaquin Niemann and Dean Burmester also won DPWT events in the past year, which puts them in contention for major events in 2024.
