The PGA Tour starts the new year virtually with the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, while the DP World Tour ends the year with the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at three of Scotland's most iconic courses. The brutal promotion competition has been decided.
More than 150 celebrities and amateurs (168 to be exact) battled it out over four days at St Andrews Old Course, Kim Barns and Carnoustie for the title. But unlike the regular Tour event, where some 65 golfers advance to the weekend, in terms of celebrity, only the top 20 teams qualify for the second tee time at St. Andrews.
While there aren't many quality amateurs left, there are a number of extremely well-known faces competing on the final day. Leading the way was Tyrrell Hatton, one of 14 golfers on the LIV course whose father Jeff shot 61 on Saturday to tie his father. After the course record, Sunday started with a total of 38. Hatton Sr., who is also coached by Tyrrell, could be set for victory in just his second appearance at Dunhill.
Meanwhile, Huey Lewis hopes to make more news by helping Rasmus Nygrad-Petersen win the team award. The American singer and actor has shot rounds of 59 and 58 so far this week, with the seven-handicap player and his Danish partner four strokes behind the Hattons.
The unlikely pairing of American golf pro James Nicholas and NFL legend John Elway has proven quite successful, with the pair entering the final round at -31 and The chances of winning are slim. Denver Broncos icon Elway won the first of his two Super Bowl titles in January 1998, about 10 months after playing partner Nicholas was born.

Couples who finished on 29 under included English cricket hero Alan Lamb, who was playing in his 15th appearance in the tournament, and former Wales and Real Madrid football star Gareth Bale. The former goalscorer hit the headlines on Saturday after his ball was picked up by a runaway dog, but regardless, the talented golfer and pro partner Dan Brown have had a great week so far .
The last group to advance include Robert McIntyre and his father/replacement ball boy Dougie, John Parry and Mark Nicholas (another former cricketer and current broadcaster), Jordan Smith and American actors and Comedian Bill Murray. The iconic “Caddyshack” greenskeeper is a staple at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, playing in his 10th event at Dunhill.

Did Jay Monahan or Yasir Al-Rumayyan advance to the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship?
Neither the PGA Tour commissioner nor the Saudi PIF president made the cut at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, days after they were first photographed smiling and joking together at Carnoustie.
The cut this week was 28 under, and in fact, neither golf boss was particularly close to making it to Sunday. It would be disappointing for them, but it would at least give them the opportunity to discuss the future of men's professional golf for a longer period of time.
However, Monaghan will go home with bragging rights after he and Billy Horschel tied for 60th at 23 under. The PGA Tour president also contributed four times, while Al-Rumayan Club contributed just two. The influential businessman finished the week tied for 70th with South Africa's Dean Burmester at 22 under.
