Daniel Brown has steadily risen up the rankings since turning pro in 2017, winning the ISPS Handa World Invitational in his rookie season on the DP World Tour.
The Englishman could well lift the claret jug in his major debut at the 152nd British Open, which would be a historic triumph. Before then, though, there's a lot to sort out and here we take a look at which clubs the DP World Tour champion brought with him…
driver

Starting with the driver, Brown seems to be switching back and forth between the Ping G430 LST and the G430 Max 10K. On the DP World Tour, the British player chose the Max 10K, but for the 2024 Open, he seems to be choosing the LST.
What we do know is that he uses a Fujikura Ventus Blue 6 X shaft, and the LST driver head is an impressive model in its own right, striking a good balance between distance and consistency. Broadly speaking, this is a low-spin product with a high-tech look and a strong feel to match the all-around performance.
Fairway Wood

Like his driver, the fairway wood is Ping, this time the G430 Max, with a 15-degree loft and a Fujikura Ventus Blue 7 X shaft. At this time, it's unclear if Brown still has a fairway wood, but like many pros, we wouldn't be surprised to see him switch.
The G430 Max is a long, easy-to-use fairway wood that is popular with tour pros and club golfers alike due to its versatility and high launch characteristics. We found it also offers excellent forgiveness; it is undoubtedly one of the best fairway woods on the market.
Iron

Brown once again chose Pings irons, with the Englishman using an i230 Utility 3-iron with lofts between 19 and 21 degrees. He also has a selection of Blueprint S irons, from a 4-iron to a pitching wedge.
As of this writing, we’re not sure which shaft is in the i230, but the Blueprint S has the True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100, which is a shaft we’ve seen in most tour players’ gear. As for the Blueprint S, it’s a great choice for low-handicappers with room for a player’s dent, and the compact head and minimal offset will appeal to purists.
Wedge

When it comes to the short clubs, Brown opted to use S159 wedges in 50, 54 and 58 degrees. Regarding the 50 and 54, we think they use an S12 grind, while the 58 uses a T6 grind, and all wedges use Nippon NS Pro Prototype shafts.
As for the wedges, we feel they look as good as any other wedge on the market and perform pretty well. They chipped and pitched very well throughout testing, and they also produced a strong and consistent ball flight when hit from a little further out. They are easily one of the best wedges money can buy, so it's understandable why Brown has them in his collection.
Putter

The last club in the bag is a putter, which Brown has been switching between frequently. Previously, he used a Ping PLD Oslo 4, but at the Open, he seemed to be using a Ping PLD Anser or Answer 2D.
What we do know is that the Ping PLD series is one of the best putters on the market, and that both models listed are designed for those with a smaller arc on their shots.
ball

Like many pros on tour, Brown has chosen the Titleist Pro V1, one of the best premium golf balls on the market. When we tested the latest model, we found that it adds consistency to the long game without significantly changing the characteristics that made the Pro V1 so popular.
Clothing/shoes

The shoe Brown is currently wearing is the FootJoy Pro/SLX, the next generation of the brand’s Pro/SL series. It’s a very popular model on tour, and thanks to the ultimate comfort and grip as well as impressive stability, we can understand why.
