The DP World Tour is one of the most profitable golf tours in the world, second only to the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, with its players earning hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars each year.
In addition to the prize money for each event, there are financial rewards in other areas. For example, this season's Global Swing phase has a $1 million prize pool, with the winners of each of the five swings receiving $200,000. There is also a separate Race to Dubai ranked prize pool of $6 million, with the top 10 at the end of the season sharing $6 million and the winner receiving $2 million.
Overall, the 2023/24 DP World Tour season offers record-breaking prize money, with total prize money increasing from $144.2 million to $148.5 million. So, how much does a DP World Tour player earn on average?
Ranking No. 1, No. 30, No. 70 and No. 100 in the Battle for Dubai rankings over the past 10 years gives us an idea of what players in the top 100 at the end of the season earned on average in each of those years.
Rory McIlroy, for example, earned €7,475,320 during the 2023 season, culminating in his fifth Dubai win. Daniel Hiller ranks 30th with season earnings of €1,149,645 thanks to his victory at the Betfred British Masters, Callum Shinkwin ranks 70th with €763,287 and Daan Huizing ranks 100th with €410,100 in prize money.

Overall, these earnings amount to €9,798,352, with the average earnings across the four rankings being €2,449,588 (and therefore the approximate average earnings of the top 100).
It's no surprise that this number has been unrivaled over the past nine years, given the trend of ever-increasing bonuses. In 2022, with the same ranking, the average income is €1,854,135, while a year ago the figure was slightly higher at €2,158,739.
