Volvo China Open extends partnership with DP World Tour for another five years.
Starting next year, the event will be held for three consecutive years at Jiading Anting Golf Club.
The Volvo China Open was founded in 1995 and is the oldest international professional golf event in mainland China.
The 30th Volvo China Open will be held from April 17 to 20, 2025, with a prize fund of US$2.5 million. This marks the event’s return to Shanghai after ten years, having previously hosted nine editions in the city.
Zhao Qin, chairman of the board of directors of the Volvo China Open, said that the 2025 event plans to launch a series of golf-related tourism and cultural activities to increase audience participation.
“We will also set up an autograph area to provide golf enthusiasts with the opportunity to interact with top players,” Zhao said.
Founded in 2005, Anting Golf Club has a world-class 18-hole championship course designed by internationally renowned golf course designer Robert Trent Jones Jr.
Ling Kuangye, executive director of the club, said: “This is the first time we have hosted such a prestigious international professional golf event, and the club will spare no effort to provide excellent support services.
“In addition, we hope to showcase Shanghai's unique charm and rich sports culture to global audiences through this event.”
