European Ryder Cup heroes Jon Rahm and Ludvig Aberg have both declined to play in the season-ending DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai from November 14-17.
Both players missed the first leg of the DP World Tour playoffs at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship at Yas Links from November 7-10.
Rahm, 29, was recently allowed to return to the DP World Tour after appealing his fine for joining the Saudi-funded LIV golf league this season.
Aberg, 25, was recently forced to withdraw from competition due to a knee injury.
A spokesman for DP World Tour confirmed golf magic On the eve of the DP World Tour Championship, neither Rahm nor Aberg made it to the 50-man season finals at the Globe.
The absence of Lahm and Aberg means Scotland's Conor Syme and Francesco Laporta will step into the field.
Syme is ranked 51st in the DP World Tour standings.
Laporta ranks 52nd.

For Rahm, the decision to bypass the event was somewhat surprising, especially since he is a record three-time winner of the event and also has the European Ryder Cup in the $10 DP World Tour Championship Gold points are up for grabs.
Rahm doesn't need to worry too much about the team's draft picks.
After recently returning to his former European Tour circuit, Rahm must play in at least four regular season matches on the DP World Tour to retain his membership for next season and keep his European Ryder Cup hopes alive.
The Spaniard has now done just that, competing in the Olympics, Spanish Open, Dunhill Links and Andalusia Masters.
But he turned down the chance to play in either of the two DP World Tour playoff events in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

For Aberg, his knee doesn't appear to be fully healed yet.
The Swede will compete in Tiger Woods' Hero World Challenge in Albany from December 5-8, so it will be interesting to see if he is able to tee off in the Bahamas in three weeks.
American player Billy Horschel happily decided to come and participate in the DP World Tour Championship.
Horschel defeated McIlroy in a playoff in September to win his second career BMW PGA title.
He is ranked fourth in the DP World Tour rankings.
