The 33-year-old moved to Dubai in 2022 and is currently the 13th best player in the world and has won the Abu Dhabi Championship, Dubai Invitational and Race to Dubai during his illustrious career.
He is also a two-time Ryder Cup champion and tied for third at the Masters earlier this year, just weeks after winning the Emirates Challenge for his stepson, Oscar Craig.
But perhaps his greatest accomplishment is his desire to give back to the game.
Ahead of the 2022 DP World Tour Championship, Fleetwood and DP World officially opened the DP World Golf Performance Centre and the region’s first Tommy Fleetwood Academy at Jumeirah Golf Estates.
This is the second such academy, with the English player opening his first in 2018 at Formby Hall in Southport, where he learnt the game under his first coach, Norman Marshal.
The success of Southport Academy, coupled with Fleetwood’s passion to get as many people involved in the game as possible, played a vital role in opening a second venue at the home of the DP World Tour Championship at the end of the season.
The appointment of Fleetwood as Global Ambassador fits perfectly with DP World’s commitment to growing the game of golf at grassroots level in the region and around the world, encouraging everyone to learn to play golf.
