In 2022, VisitScotland became the first country to align with the GEO Foundation as a strategic partner, aiming to connect with the Foundation and support its non-profit mission to help accelerate the sustainable development of golf. Since then, they have established links and coordination between VisitScotland’s responsible tourism goals and the sustainable development activities carried out at major Scottish golf tournaments this year, including the Genesis Scottish Open.
These activities are highlighted in various ways across the Renaissance Club grounds in partnership with the DP World Tour and its Golf for Good programme. Golf for Good is the DP World Tour’s commitment to environmental and social sustainability, ensuring we have a positive long-term impact on the courses, countries and communities we visit. Its main projects are the Green Drive sustainability programme, the operation of the G4D (Golf for the Disabled) Tour and the Future of Golf programme, which encourages a new generation to take up golf.
