This may still be the early stages of this year's Ryder Cup qualifying, but Luke Donald will have reason to be optimistic after the recent Blues and Gold Rush, which shows how strong it is in the European team.
Ludvig Åberg and Rory McIlroy are both part of the Ryder Cup team that won the 2023 European team
From mid-January to mid-February, Captain Donald has a success story anywhere on either side of the Atlantic Ocean.
It all started with Tyrrell Hatton winning the Hero Dubai Desert Classic at the DP World Tour's Amirates Golf Club and a fifth Rolex Series with Jon Rahm, creating a wave of momentum from there.
Later that day, Sepp Straka, another member of Donald's 2023-win Ryder Cup team in Italy, also lifted the silverware, and the Austrian won his third PGA Tour title at American Express in California.
Not long after, the Europeans shone again in the Golden State, Rory McIlroy led Ireland one or two at AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, while experienced Justin Rose and Straka also ranked in the top 10.
A Briton in his career form over 8,000 miles is building his own case with the Ryder Cup debut as Laurie Canter won his second DP World Tour title in the energy game in Bapco in less than a year.

In the cauldron of the stadium course at TPC Scottsdale, Thomas Detry stressed that he won his first PGA Tour title as he won the final four holes in the last four holes, winning WM Phoenix with 7 strokes.
After the seven runner-ups in the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour ended, the 32-year-old (long-touted top star in European golf) placed his hands on some silverware he had long longed for.
To this end, he climbed into the automatic qualifying match of this year's European Ryder Cup team, trying to imitate Nicolas Colsaerts and Thomas Pieters, just the third Belgian to compete in the biennial competition performance.
A week later, after California returned to California again, Donald called “generational” by Donald after being awarded the captain's draft pick at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in 2023 – showing once again how his talent shows no limits.
In front of tournament host Tiger Woods, the Swedes made a great performance in his last six holes – the Four Birds – in the Genesis Invitational, who moved from Riviera to Torrey Pines this year due to devastating wildfires in January.
Just like in Arizona, Robert MacIntyre tied for sixth place, with further European representatives in the top ten, Tommy Fleetwood on fifth place in the latest signature event.
This means that the four members of the 2023 victory in 2023 tasted the victory in early 2025, while at least many enjoyed the top ten, the latest courtesy of Nicolai Højgaard at the Vidantaworld Mexican Open.
Aaron Rai tied for fourth in the same match to highlight how the British now establish themselves as a global star and are at the forefront of entering the top 20 of the official world golf rankings.
Although there is no further title in the European champions in the final few games of the PGA Tour, there is no doubt that the players will be playing in Florida this week.
Five of the top six European teams are playing at TPC Sawgrass, while three DP World Tour members in the world – McIlroy, Oberg and Fleetwood – are all on display.
Apart from that, Straka is the leader of FedEx, while Dubai ranking leader Canter plays as one of three first-time player participants along with dual members Rasmus Højgaard and Jesper Svensson.
There is no doubt that competition, including among the possible rookies, has inspired strong performances.
But while the current situation is undoubtedly positive, momentum changes in form are inevitable – weeks from the first major championship and the first serve held at Bethpage in September.
The top six on the European standings automatically won their place after the Betfred Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo in late August, and Donald then named his six captains' draft picks.
So with Donald being the captain of Europe's first return since Bernhard Gallacher, his goal is to be the second captain to lead the mainland to victory, he hopes to see the same pace as the game.
