Justin Rose and Francesco Molinari have been named captains for the DP World Tour Team Cup, which will see Great Britain and Ireland take on continental Europe in Abu Dhabi in January.
It was Rose's first time in the role, while his Ryder Cup teammate Molinari led the continental European team to victory in the inaugural Ryder Cup two years ago.
The two teams will face off at the National Course at Abu Dhabi Golf Resort from January 10 to 12 next year.
Rose said: “It was strange playing against Fran in match play and not being on the same side as him.
“But I’m definitely looking forward to this match, even though I know it’s going to be tough given Fran’s history, not only in this tournament but in the Ryder Cup as well.
“But there is so much talent from the UK and Ireland on the DP World Tour at the moment and it would be fantastic to have the opportunity to build them into a winning team.”
Both teams will field 10 DP World Tour members for the three-day event, with Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald also officiating in the United Arab Emirates.
Ross and Molinari will be joined by the top four members of the Continental European and British and Irish teams from the final 2024 Race to Dubai standings, with the remaining five players from both sides to be chosen by the captains in consultation with Donald.
The Team Cup was first held in January 2023, when Molinari led the Continental European team to a 14.5-10.5 win over the British and Irish team led by Tommy Fleetwood.
Molinari added: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to captain the Continental team again and to try to successfully defend the Team Cup.
“2023 is a very special week and it is great to see players from different countries across the continent working towards a common goal.
“I have a lot of respect for Justin, he’s a great competitor and it’s a challenge for me to go against him and his team and I’m more than happy to do it.”
As in 2023, teams will play one fourball match on Friday, two fourball matches on Saturday and one singles match on Sunday.
