Rory McIlroy's advice didn't lift Tom McKibbin out of Liv Golf.

When Tom McKibbin first received a proposal to join LIV golf, the 22-year-old Northern Irishman called his mentor, Rory McIlroy, to choose Major four times Champion's brain to provide advice on this huge decision.
McIlroy's protein is outspoken. He believes McKibbin worked hard to win his PGA Tour card and improved his world rankings and gave up on payday alone.

McIlroy's advice basically ignored McIlroy's advice and joined Jon Rahm's Legion XIII team.
Liv Golf started his fourth season this week under the lights of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. McGibbin spoke at a press conference before the tournament and explained why he went in a different direction towards McIlroy's advice.

With the jump to Liv Golf, McKibbin confiscated the PGA Tour card he won a strong year on the DP World Tour last season. McGibbin made birdies on the last hole of the DP World Tour Championship to secure his PGA Tour card.
McIlroy, who won the event, immediately sought McKeepin to congratulate him.
“I looked at the rankings and I saw Tom enter the top ten and I thought it was good, good, when I left the last one, I didn’t see his name card, he was congratulating me, I don’t want to ask- Say, “Yes, or is it? “He said: “Yes.” McIlroy said in November.
