The Northern Irishman recently won his sixth Harry Vardon Trophy and his fourth global title at the season-ending 2024 DP World Tour Championship at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, Success at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and the Wells Fargo Championship adds to the success.
McIlroy has been in fine form heading into Dubai 2024, posting seven top-five finishes in addition to his two wins in Dubai and joining the late great Seve Ballesteros in Six wins in ranked play throughout the season.
The four-time major champion has an impressive record at the BMW PGA Championship, winning in 2014 on the West Course at the iconic Surrey venue and finishing runner-up three times.
McIlroy finished runner-up to Billy Horschel in this year's BMW PGA Championship after a thrilling play-off. On the second extra hole, McIlroy narrowly missed an eagle putt for birdie, and Horschel made an eagle from long range to win the title for the second time in four years.
