It's official. Rory McIlroy will play in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, scheduled for November 7-10, 2024, at Yas Links. The tournament has a prize pool of $9 million and is the start of the DP World Tour Play-offs in the United Arab Emirates, which will be held next week at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai for the traditional DP World Tour Championship (also with a prize pool of $9 million).
We won’t see the Northern Irishman in action again until the Scottish Open (July 11-14), where he will return to the course for the first time since the Belgian Thomas Pieters won in January 2022, just weeks before he decided to join LIV Golf.
McIlroy's official participation in the last two events of the season also confirms that his goal is to win the first place in this event for the sixth time after 2012, 2014, 2015, 2022 and 2023.

McIlroy left ISM in 2011 to join Dublin-based Horizon Sports Management. Michael Bannon began working with Rory in October 2012.
