“He's like, 'Yeah, but that doesn't mean I like it'. I think he's in [PGA] Tour. ”
McIlroy: “Let's go forward together”
Players participating in the LIV Golf League have been banned from the PGA Tour since its launch in 2022, although USGA and R&A recently announced direct access to Saudi-backed Tour golfers to obtain professional qualifications.
“I think everyone has to overcome it, we all have to say 'Okay, this is the starting point, we move forward,” McIlroy said of going back to the PGA Tour. “We're not looking behind us, We won't look past.
“It’s unfortunate that everything happened, but unity, how we all move forward together, is the best thing for everyone.
“If people's feelings are hurt because men go or someone else, like who cares? Let's go forward together, let's try to keep this going again and do the best things for the game.”
Dominant U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau is among those currently playing in Liv Golf, and McIlroy hopes to see Americans on the PGA Tour in the future.
“From my point of view, I don't think it's complicated at all,” McIlroy explained. “On the PGA Tour, some people competed in LIV and if they still have the form, be sure, come back, come back to play .
“Like us, they all got fair on this tour. [PGA Tour] very good.
“I think these guys are back and I think they should have a chance to make money, and I think that's going to happen. There are these regular fair grants every year, so I think they should have a chance to make money, but I don't like “ think They should be given immediately.”
Regarding how long a player can return to the PGA Tour, McIlroy said: “I definitely think '26' [2026] You can get to the point where we often play together.
“I don’t think it’s going to get there all the time, but I think you want you to see where it can go.”
