Rasmus made noises on the PGA Tour.
Rasmus Hojgaard is a more well-known player on the professional track alongside twin brother Nicolai, but this week, Dane Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen has a 36-hole lead at the 2025 Puerto Rico Open in 2025.
Neergaard-Petersen won three international wins, but behind the Korn Ferry Tour, back in 2020, the 25-year-old made the only appearance on the PGA Tour approved tour before this week.
The former Oklahoma Cowboys have two top 10 in the DP World Tour in 2025, including a solo in the Qatar Commercial Bank Masters a month ago.
“Once I got into the round and had a few holes, it was really like the golf course feels like other day's golf courses,” Neergaard-Petersen said. “I just wanted to stay in the present and shoot one shot at a time. That's what I said, I know if my game can play in a good position and now I'm sure I can hit my iron so well that I'll never really have trouble.”
The scores were 64 and 65 at the Grand Reserve Golf Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico this week. If he continues to win, he will get a waiver on the 2027 PGA Tour. He will also be in the Player Championship next week and win the PGA title in May. However, one place in the Masters did not win in an out-of-the-match.
“I want to be patient,” he said. “There is no doubt that at some point you're going to be in a situation where you're not really converting some chances that may not cause any birdies, but just hanging there and constantly giving yourself opportunities and trust, and I'm going to have enough putts on Sunday.
