Key Storylines
LIV Golf returns to the historic Real Club Valderrama for the second year in a row. Spanish golfer Jon Rahm’s team, Legion XIII, secured their third team victory of the season in Nashville. Rahm and teammate Tyrrell Hatton are currently second and third in the individual points standings, respectively. Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC, the reigning team champions, lead the team standings.
Defending team champions Torque and individual winner Talor Gooch will look to repeat their success from last year. Sixteen players from the LIV Golf Andalucía field are set to compete in the upcoming Open Championship at Royal Troon. Additionally, Richard Bland of Cleeks GC will make his first start since winning the U.S. Senior Open.
Spanish Homecoming
Four Spanish-born players, including Jon Rahm, will compete in front of their home fans. Rahm, a two-time major winner and captain of the Legion XIII team, will make his first appearance at Valderrama since joining LIV Golf. Sergio Garcia, an honorary member of Valderrama, will also compete alongside his Fireballs GC teammates David Puig and Eugenio Chacarra. Garcia, who has won three professional events at Valderrama, regards it as his favorite golf course.
