Jamie Donaldson makes his 500th appearance at the KLM Open this week and we take a look at the full list of players who have reached the same milestone on the DP World Tour.
In the 52-year history of the DP World Tour, a total of 7,584 players have played at least one tournament. While about 10% of those players have played 100 tournaments, only 47 have reached the peak of 500. The number decreases further if you exceed that number, highlighting what an achievement it is to achieve such longevity in the game.
David Howell currently sits atop the list with 723 appearances, but he is one of four men to reach that impressive figure, with Soren Kjeldsen being the most recent addition to the list.
Three-time DP World Tour champion Jamie Donaldson will make his 500th appearance at the KLM Open at the age of 48, becoming the 47th player in history to accomplish the feat.
28 years later, Carl Mason became the first player to reach that milestone at the 1996 BMW International Open, at age 42.
Since then, over 500 tournaments have been attended by players from 11 different countries, with the youngest competitor being Peter Baker, who accomplished the feat at the age of 36 at the 2004 KLM Open, and the oldest being Sandy Lyle, who accomplished the feat at the age of 56 at the 2014 Masters.
