Justin Rose, an eleven-time PGA TOUR winner, is among the competitors vying for a place at The Open Championship at Royal Troon through the 36-hole Final Qualifying, held on Tuesday, July 2, across the United Kingdom.
Much like the U.S. Open Final Qualifying, this event sees both emerging talents and seasoned players contending for entry into a major championship. Four Final Qualifying venues are in play, each offering at least four qualifying spots.
Rose is determined to maintain his streak of major-championship appearances, which began with the 2010 Open Championship. Apart from the 2022 Open Championship, which he missed due to a back injury, the 2016 Olympic gold medalist has competed in every major since 2010. Rose first made his mark on the global golf scene at The Open Final Qualifying in 1998, advancing as an amateur and finishing T4 at Royal Birkdale. He aims to recreate that success on Tuesday.
Other notable players in the Final Qualifying include Belgian Olympian Thomas Detry, two-time Korn Ferry Tour winner Tim Widing, and world No. 6 amateur Preston Summerhays.
