Rory McIlroy can no longer enter the big season with confidence.
Going out and winning a professional grand slam is a difficult thing, and if he does, McIlroy will be one of only six players. It will be fun to watch, but after his 28th victory on the PGA Tour, he will be full of confidence.
You will never get tired of winning big titles, and McIlroy has done it all over the world – he is a golf superstar.
McIlroy wants a five-game winning season – winning four times last year – he has already won two. Not only any two wins, two big goals and AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Over the past year or so, McIlroy will see what Scottie Scheffler is doing. It motivated him and let him go: “Well, if Scotty could do that, I could.”
Last year, Schefler gave everyone good, and McIlroy didn't like that—he could have used it as a little motivation. Everyone has to remember what Scheffler did last year, and his nine global wins, including the Masters, season-end FedExcup and Olympics.
We've seen that in a sense Justin Thomas had a big season before, and Jordan Spieth was doing something similar when the scene first broke out. Brooks Koepka took over the dominance. Of course, Tiger Woods has been doing it for so long every second year of his career.

It's all been with Longevity and Rory for a long time when you talk about great champion golfers – over 15 years – he's in the top 10 for the most part. His career was long and successful, and others had to match it.
The outstanding player for the past few years is Scheffler, but he has to do it for a longer time before we can say he's like McIlroy. McIlroy might have something more – his best peak may still exist.
His first victory on the DP World Tour was in 2009 when he had a lot of competitive golf since then, but he remained enthusiastic about his own golf.
McIlroy is the form of a master?
When Rory started his career, he was the whole package. His putts are somewhat missing, but since he's been with Brad Faxon, he's been a better putt and Brad has done a really good job with him.
Rory is a very stable golfer and he is a very stable person. He's a mind-boggling guy and I don't see anything different in the players usually in McIlroy.
I think he drove well, his iron plan was good, I think putting was sensational, but I think his debris – and he's one of the most underrated chip guys – seems to have too much bounce.
I'm sure this is the field he's going to be in the Masters, but the game is enough to win. He stood up and couldn't perform better at Augusta National.
Will he do this and win a Grand Slam? I won't talk about it anymore because every time I talk about it, he won't do it! I said nothing!
