The PGA of America has announced it will unveil the next U.S. Ryder Cup captain at noon on Tuesday in New York.
A key contender for the role is Tiger Woods. However, Woods has expressed uncertainty about accepting the position as he continues his recovery from significant injuries and manages new responsibilities as a board member with the PGA Tour and PGA Tour Enterprises. If Woods declines, several other players are in consideration for the captaincy.
The upcoming Ryder Cup will take place from September 26-28, 2025, at Bethpage Black in New York. Luke Donald, who led the European team to victory in Rome in 2023, will serve as the European captain once again.
PGA of America President John Lindert will make the announcement at the NASDAQ building. The event will be broadcast on Golf Channel and SiriusXM, and will also be livestreamed on the PGA’s Twitter and Facebook accounts.
