Tyrrell Hatton shocked golf fans when he somehow missed a putt for par at the DP World Tour Championship.
The Briton, known for his consistently reliable putting, nearly made birdie on the fourth hole of his third round at Jumeirah Golf Estates Earth Course in Dubai.
Approaching a birdie chance on the par-3 hole, Hatton's shot missed the hole.
If he sinks it, he will join Rory McIlroy and Rasmus Hoggard as the joint leaders of the tournament.
Just a foot short of the hole, everyone watching thought it was a simple par putt.
Ryder Cup hero Hatton was known for his temper on the course, nonchalantly approaching his ball and hovering over the hole with the aim of driving it home quickly.
But shockingly, the LIV golf star missed one foot and watched in horror as his putter hit the right edge and popped out.
Viewers at home didn't even get to see his reaction as Sky Sports cameras had switched to Hoygaard's second shot on the par-4 fifth hole, assuming Hatton's putt had been completed.
Those watching on television heard a shocked commentator shout “Oooh”.
Another simply said: “Oh my gosh.”
One commentator then said: “That's it, maybe, just maybe, Sunday night will be different.”
Fans were quick to comment on the blunder, with one fan posting on X: “The producers don’t understand the assignment.
“When that happens to Hatton, you never, ever take the camera away from him.”
Another fan mentioned his loyalty to LIV Golf, quipping: “Liv it, I mean love it.”
A third added: “I don't want to be within two meters of him.”
The user then left a message: “In order to avoid being explicit, the camera was quickly changed.”
Meanwhile, another said: “The stadium has hit back at No. 18's complaints.”
The comment was in reference to Hatton hitting the 18th hole in the tournament, which was designed by two-time major champion Greg Norman.
The 611-yard par 5 is considered one of the easiest holes to hit in par, and Hatton came under intense scrutiny at the end of Friday's second round.
After choosing to play and hit his second shot instead of hitting the green, he was overheard saying: “I despise everything about this hole. A really bad golf hole.”
Heading into the final round on Sunday, Hatton was in fourth place at eight under after shooting even par in the third round.
Hoygaard leads at 12 under, followed by McIlroy [11-under] and Antoine Rozner [ten-under].
