Niklas Norgaard of Denmark won the British Masters at Belfry by two strokes with a total score of 16 under.
The 32-year-old shot an even-par 72 to claim his first DP World Tour title, with South Africa's Thriston Lawrence two shots behind in second.
Norgaard’s compatriot Rasmus Hojgaard shot a 7-under 65 to finish third at 12 under.
Matt Wallace was the highest-ranked home golfer in eighth place, four shots back, while Tyrrell Hatton shot a disappointing two-over 74 to tie for 18th at four under.
“You have no idea what this means,” Norgard said. “I’ve been dreaming about this since I was 10 years old.”
“I’ve had a long career and just slowly worked my way up, a little bit better every year. I’ve never won on the Challenge Tour, nothing like that, so it feels really good to win here for the first time.
“I try not to think about it too much, but I almost threw up this morning at breakfast, I was so nervous.”
Norgaard becomes the third Danish player to win the British Masters, following Thomas Bjorn in 2005 and Thorbjorn Olesen in 2022.
Asked about winning his first Ryder Cup qualifier, Norgaard added: “I don't even know. It's a good start.
“That’s the ultimate goal, but I’ve always thought about whether I can make it to the last race of the season this year. [on the Race to Dubai] It’s always been on my radar, so I think it’s time to make sure of that.”
