Every year produces a different top golf event, and 2025 is no exception. In addition to the men's four majors and the women's five majors, team golf will also be popular, with the biggest events in the category taking place.
The battle for the leading golfer on the two major tours, the PGA and DP World Tour, adds even more entertainment to the event. It’s going to be a year to remember, but what exactly is going to happen?
Team Golf Highlights
Golf fans will be acutely aware that 2025 is the year of the Ryder Cup. This is the biggest team event in the sport, with Europe and America once again competing for the trophy. The best players throughout the season make it to each team, and there is always a tense and close competition between the two sides.
The Ryder Cup is a strange event: The U.S. typically competes as its strongest team; golf betting The market often views them as clear favorites. In recent years, however, Europe has dominated the competition.

The remaining three majors are held in May, June and July respectively. North Carolina's iconic Quail Hollow Golf Club will next host the PGA Championship. The U.S. Open will be played at Oakmont Country Club in June before the tournament moves to Europe.
The Open Championship, the oldest of the four majors, will make a rare trip across the Irish Sea to Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland in July 2024. This is the third time this venue has hosted this event, and the choice of venue is a severe test for all participants.
Like the Masters, all remaining majors attract the best players in the world and are one of the highlights of the golf year.
Women's golf sees surge in interest
Women's golf is currently experiencing a boom thanks to live broadcasts of major events. In the women's game, There are five majorsrespectively the Chevron Championship, Women's PGA Championship, U.S. Women's Open, Evian Championship and Women's Open.
Each event will be broadcast live over four days and interest in women's golf is set to increase thanks to coverage from major sports broadcasters.
Unfortunately, there is no major women's team golf tournament this year. The Solheim Cup, the women's equivalent of the Ryder Cup, is scheduled to Compete again in 2026. At the same time, there are many top international events to complement these five major events.
While these are the highlights of the golf year, 2025 promises exciting tournaments almost every week. As well as the usual break over the festive period, there are professional events on the calendar, including top events such as The Players Championship, Scottish Open and Phoenix Open.
On the PGA Tour, the race to be the best golfer of the season ends with the conclusion of the FedEx Series in August. The DP World Tour offers a similar challenge to Europe's top players.
