As the LIV Golf regular season comes to a close, the action heads to Bolingbrook Country Club for the LIV Chicago event. This week is particularly crucial, as the top 24 players in the individual standings will secure their place for the next season. Meanwhile, those ranked 25-48 face the possibility of trades or releases, and players below 49th risk being relegated out of the league.
Set your lineup for LIV Golf Fantasy by 1 p.m. EST on September 13 to make your selections before the shotgun start.
Here are the team power rankings ahead of LIV Chicago:
1. Ripper GC
Ripper GC takes the top spot after a runner-up finish in West Virginia, marking their fourth top-2 finish in seven events. Marc Leishman’s return, following appendix surgery, resulted in an impressive T4 finish. Cameron Smith has notched four consecutive top-10 finishes and holds sixth place in the individual standings.
Predicted Finish: Leishman, Smith, Lucas Herbert, Matt Jones
2. Smash GC
Smash GC is fresh off their second win of the season, highlighted by a final round that secured a three-shot victory. Brooks Koepka claimed his second win of the year, and Jason Kokrak finished just one stroke behind, taking third. Graeme McDowell returns after a one-week suspension.
Predicted Finish: Talor Gooch, Koepka, Kokrak, McDowell
3. Torque GC
Torque GC jumps up four spots after bouncing back from their worst showing of the year. Joaquin Niemann may have lost his lead in the individual standings, but he remains in second. Sebastian Munoz had his best finish of the year, a T6 at Greenbrier, placing him in a solid position for the final week.
Predicted Finish: Niemann, Munoz, Carlos Ortiz, Mito Pereira
4. Fireballs GC
Fireballs GC has been a powerhouse in the second half of the season, with six straight top-5 finishes. Sergio Garcia’s three top-2 finishes place him fourth in the individual standings. David Puig is also performing well and is one spot away from entering the Lock Zone, while Eugenio Chacarra hasn’t cracked the top 10 yet.
Predicted Finish: Garcia, Abraham Ancer, Chacarra, Puig
5. Crushers GC
Despite leading the overall standings, Crushers GC drops in the rankings after an eighth-place finish in West Virginia. They’re defending champions at LIV Chicago, though the venue has changed. Charles Howell III returned after a stress fracture, finishing T37. Bryson DeChambeau, ranked ninth in the individual standings, is still searching for his first LIV win of the season.
Predicted Finish: DeChambeau, Paul Casey, Anirban Lahiri, Howell III
6. Legion XIII
With Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton ranked first and third individually, Legion XIII could make a strong case for a higher ranking. However, inconsistent performances from Caleb Surratt and Kieran Vincent have kept them in sixth. The team is second overall in the standings, but they need everyone firing for a top finish.
Predicted Finish: Rahm, Hatton, Surratt, Vincent
7. RangeGoats GC
After a shaky summer, RangeGoats GC has regained momentum with seventh and fifth place finishes in recent events. Matthew Wolff is safe in the Lock Zone, but Bubba Watson, with a best finish of T15, sits in the Drop Zone. They have two podium finishes this season, so the potential is there.
Predicted Finish: Peter Uihlein, Wolff, Thomas Pieters, Watson
8. Stinger GC
The South African team is seventh overall with four podium finishes. Louis Oosthuizen’s consistency continues with three straight top-10s, and Dean Burmester remains in the top 10 despite cooling off in the second half of the season.
Predicted Finish: Oosthuizen, Burmester, Charl Schwartzel, Branden Grace
9. 4Aces GC
The 4Aces have struggled recently, finishing 10th again in the last event. Patrick Reed was their best performer at Greenbrier, and Dustin Johnson sits in 14th overall, though he hasn’t posted a top-10 since May. Pat Perez is currently in the Open Zone but could fall into the Drop Zone if his form slips.
Predicted Finish: Reed, Johnson, Harold Varner III, Perez
10. IronHeads GC
Despite being last in the season-long standings, IronHeads GC enters Chicago ranked 10th after placing seventh and eighth in recent events. Scott Vincent needs a strong performance to climb out of the Drop Zone, while Danny Lee has shown sporadic flashes of brilliance.
Predicted Finish: Vincent, Kevin Na, Jinichiro Kozuma, Lee
11. HyFlyers GC
The Phil Mickelson-led HyFlyers are one of only three teams without a top-2 finish this year. Brendan Steele barely holds onto a Lock Zone spot, and Cameron Tringale has found form in the last two events. Andy Ogletree’s two top-10 finishes have led to the team’s sole podium appearance.
Predicted Finish: Steele, Tringale, Ogletree, Mickelson
12. Cleeks GC
Cleeks GC had momentum mid-season but have finished near the bottom in recent events. Kalle Samooja and Martin Kaymer have underperformed, while Richard Bland’s consistent top-15 finishes have kept them competitive.
Predicted Finish: Bland, Adrian Meronk, Samooja, Kaymer
13. Majesticks GC
Majesticks GC have struggled all season, finishing last in five events, including the last two. Sam Horsfield’s injury leaves his status uncertain, while no team member is in the top 25 individually. Fortunately, they don’t have any players in danger of relegation.
Predicted Finish: Henrik Stenson, Horsfield, Ian Poulter, Lee Westwood
