Thriston Lawrence captured his fourth and latest DP World Tour title at the BMW International Open in June 2023
The world number 50 is participating in the Nedbank Golf Challenge for the third time. He tied for 13th in his debut in 2022 and tied for 24th last year.
Lawrence joins a star-studded cast that includes defending champion and six-time PGA Tour winner Max Homa, PGA Tour champions Will Zalatoris and Corey Connors, DP World Tour star Nikola and Rasmus Hojgaard, European Ryder Cup-winning captain Luke Donald and Sunshine Tour stars Christian Bezuidenhout and Erik van Rooyen.
Lawrence will head to Suncity in excellent form this year and ready to become the first South African champion of the Nedbank Golf Challenge since Branden Grace in 2017.
The four-time DP World Tour champion is in the midst of one of his most successful seasons as a pro, with nine top-10 finishes on tour this year, including five runner-up finishes. He is currently ranked second in the DP World Tour Dubai rankings.
While challenging for the glory of the “African Grand Slam”, Lawrence also achieved the highest result in this year's Grand Slam – fourth place in the Open.
“I'm in good form this year. Being in the top 50 in the world has been my goal for the past three years and I feel like things are going in the right direction.
