The DP World Tour returns this week with the KLM Open being hosted by International Events on the outskirts of Amsterdam.
We are at the midpoint of the DP World Tour European Tour, and the KLM Open kicks off just days before the third major of the year, the US Open, has just concluded with LIV star Bryson DeChambeau taking the title.
This year marks the 104th edition of the “Dutch Open” and the tournament will be held on an international golf course. Originally known as the Dutch Open, the tournament has been around since 1912 and first joined the European Tour in 1972. As many as 13 golf courses have hosted the tournament in the past, and this is the first time it has been held on an international golf course since 2019.
The KLM Open marks the start of the European Swing, with the winner receiving $200,000 and a spot in each of the Back 9 events. After a brief stop here, the DPWT will head to Italy for the Adriatic Golf Club for the Italian Open. Prior to the finals, the tour will return to Germany for the BMW International Open, where the Swing champion will be crowned, and the Royal Troon Open will be held from July 17-21.
Who plays at the KLM Open?
Defending champion Pablo Larrazabal returns to the Netherlands this week looking to successfully defend his title, while Rasmus Højgaard and Matteo Manassero will also be heading to Amsterdam, both looking to claim their first DPWT victory of 2024.
Home favourites Joost Luiten and Darius van Driel will be joined by Matt Wallace and Luke List, who recently added to the KLM Open line-up. The Brit and American are both PGA Tour winners and will be hoping to replicate their success in the Netherlands on this European tour.
If you want to see more big names and see another star-studded tournament, tune in to the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands later in the day, which will feature the top five golfers in the world.

What is the format of the KLM Open?
The KLM Open is a regular stroke play tournament of 72 holes, with elimination after 36 holes (two rounds) and the top 65 players moving on to the final two rounds. The player with the lowest score in the four rounds wins the tournament.
Where is the KLM Open held?
The 104th KLM Open will be held at the International Golf Club, located on the outskirts of Amsterdam, next to Schiphol Airport. At 6,914 yards long, the course is certainly not the longest on the calendar, but that doesn’t mean it’s not challenging. The wide, undulating greens and various hazards are sure to provide a tough test.
Ian Woosnam was the chief architect of the International Golf Club, but it was Belgian designer Bruno Steensels of Mastergolf who brought the International Golf Club to life. The KLM Open returns to the venue for the first time in five years. The last winner at the venue in 2019 was Masters champion and LIV star Sergio Garcia
Who will win the KLM Open?
Defending champion Pablo Larrazabal returns to the Netherlands this week hoping to etch his name on the trophy again and become Spain's three-time champion in the past five years. Eight Spaniards have won the title before, including legendary Seve Ballesteros, who won it three times.
Alex Fitzpatrick and Rasmus Hoggard are certainly young competitors to keep an eye on. Rasmus has proven that he can win in the DPWT, while Fitzpatrick has yet to win but has shown what he is capable of with some great results.
Keep an eye on the Netherlands too. Joost Lutten and Darius van Drijer will have the support of the home fans and will hope to get some inspiration in Amsterdam.
How much money will the KLM Open champion receive?
The total prize money for the 2024 event will be $2.5 million, an increase from last year's $2 million. The winner will receive $425,000, or 17% of the total prize money, as is standard for all DP World Tour events. In addition to the prize money, players will also receive valuable Race to Dubai ranking points.
