The head of the DP World Tour went from Durban to Johannesburg this week to stay in South Africa for a second back-to-back stop, as DP World Tour and Sunshine Tour players gathered at Holden Golf Club.

Laurie Canter is likely to have ended the international swing title, but there are still plenty of games to play, and John Parry promises a match that won or second place in the solo will climb to Dubai rankings.

Who is the most supportive player?

Favorite – Jordan Smith

The British may have been forced to withdraw troops in Durban last week due to a finger injury, but he is back this week. His best result so far this season is tied for sixth in the South African soil of the Nedbank Golf Challenge. But that's how consistent he was last year, the way to finish 19th in his 19th match to Dubai, his two-time DP World Tour champion, the most popular match in the betting market, is no surprise. It will be his first game at Holden Golf Club since Jobger moved there in 2022, and the top 100 in the world's official golf golf rankings could be a key source of motivation for the 32-year-old.

Shaun Norris

His Alfred Dunhill champion was enough to win Norris’s contender before the holiday break last week, but if you look at his international record, it’s more than that, finishing sixth in Durban. In fact, he has been challenging on the Japanese Golf Tour during the last four DP world tours of the Jonsson workwear Open last March between his Leopard Creek victory. He won the famous golf Japanese series JT Cup – two victories in December – with seven other best results, including two runner-ups. The South African is in the top 400 in the official world golf rankings 12 months ago – now he is defeating the top 100 goal.

Wildcard – Darren Fichardt

South Africa has won its fourth tie for the fourth time since finishing second in the Joburg Open last season – this is his qualification to the Open this summer. His final win in five DP World Tours was at the Joburg Open in 2017, but he has to compete in the qualifying twice since, although last season’s top 100 spot in Dubai last season shows that he can still mix it with young guns on his 50th birthday. This week's victory will be his first global globally since winning France in 2023, and that will allow him to hold the DP World Tour title on three different decaces.
