Team Cup 2025: Kick-off times and first-round pairings
Eastern Time, the 2025 Team Cup will be held at:
- Friday, January 10: 02:00am – 8:00am
- Saturday, January 11: 10:30 pm (Friday evening) – 8:30 am (Saturday morning)
- Sunday, January 12: 1:30am – 7:30pm
Ten players from each team compete every day. The pairings for the first day are as follows:
- Pavon, Mathieu/Longeske, Roman vs. Justin Rose/Matt Wallace
- Rasmus Hoygaard/Rasmus Nergaard-Peterson Jordan Smith/Laurie Kanter
- Rozner, Antoine/Guerrier, Julien vs Hatton, Tyrrell/McKibbin, Tom
- Olsen, Thorbjorn/Norgaard, Niklas vs. Matthew Jordan/Paul Welling
- Molinari, Francesco/Manassero, Mateo vs. Tommy Fleetwood/Aaron Rai
The format of the first round is a four-ball format, also known as the best-ball format. In this format, two players from each team play their own ball, and the best score achieved between members serves as the team's score.
The second round consists of two games, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, in groups of four, also known as alternating shooting. In this format, players take turns hitting the ball until it goes into the hole. One player hits the ball on the even-numbered holes and the other player hits the ball on the odd-numbered holes.
Individual competitions in the Team Cup are retained for the final day, but as with the previous two days, they will be played in a match play format. In this mode, players compete hole by hole, earning one point for each hole they win and half a point for a draw. The player with the highest score wins the game.
