The final event of the DP World Tour, Back 9 Swing, will be held this week at the Genesis Championship in South Korea.
Six months ago, Genesis signed an agreement with the DPWT, and starting this year, the Korean Championship will be renamed the Genesis Championship and merge with the KPGA's existing championship of the same name.
The strategic alliance between the two tours will culminate in an exciting final game of the regular season schedule in Dubai ahead of two playoff games in November.
DPWT chief executive Guy Kinnings said in April: “Genesis continues to be an incredible partner to the global game of golf and with this new agreement the 2024 Genesis Championship will be enhanced in every aspect ”
“Our new Back 9 stage will add an extra level of excitement and there will be plenty of drama in the tournament as players work to keep their Tour cards and qualify for the play-offs.”
The fact that the tournament now features heavily on the calendar only adds to the drama as players aim to keep their Tour cards or gain enough points to extend the season to the Top 11.th Month of the year.
Last year, Pablo Larrazabal won his first and only Korean Championship, earning his eighth victory on Tour, beating Marcus Herr by two strokes. Marcus Helligkilde and made four birdies in the last eight holes to win the championship.
With the name change and increased status on the calendar, the event has attracted a number of big names and promises to be a fantastic end to the regular DPWT season.

An eagle on the par-4 16th hole at Kinghorn was a standout (even though it was only 290 yards, it didn't matter).
