British professional golfer Laurie Kanter is currently in Dubai competing in the DP World Tour's Dubai Desert Classic. However, before Kante arrived for this tournament, he was spotted representing Great Britain and Ireland in the 2025 Team Cup. It was a great match and Kante and GB&I ended up beating Continental in the Team Cup.

During a press conference at the Emirates Golf Club after the second round of the Dubai Desert Classic, Lauri Kanter was asked about his performance in the Team Cup. Speaking about the whole experience, he said:

“I just thought it was inspiring. Like I thought it was really inspiring and more inspiring than I thought it would be. I thought it might just be a couple teams playing match play. But it's so much more than that. Like all of our stuff, getting information from legends, being around captains and hearing their real experiences about what you want to do in the Ryder Cup now, and obviously the Team Cup is a version of that that everybody's trying to get to grips with. The process. It feels very inspiring and an honor to be surrounded by some legends.”

Additionally, Lauri Kanter said in his response that being with legends at the Team Cup made him fall in love with golf again. The former LIV golf professional added that he hasn't felt this way since playing amateur golf.
