The first event of the Emirates Doubles welcomes the top 70 golfers to Dubai's Yas Links, followed by the top 50 at the end-of-season DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates.
A number of common contenders have already booked their spots at both events, with stars including Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, Tommy Fleetwood and Robert McIntyre will end their season in the UAE.
However, some big-name players have yet to lock in their spots and they're hoping that will change this week at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club in South Korea.
Reigning DP World Tour champion Nicolai Højgaard is one such player facing missed opportunities.
The Dane currently sits 78th in the season-long standings and will need a better result than his 20th-place finish at last week's Andalusia Masters if he wants to defend his title on Earth next month.
Likewise, Pablo Larrazábal is at risk of missing out on the play-offs unless he performs well in South Korea.
The 41-year-old, currently ranked 90th, is a former winner of the HSBC Championship in Abu Dhabi, having beaten Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy to capture the Falcon Trophy in 2014.
The Spaniard is confident of his chances of moving up the rankings and claiming glory again in Abu Dhabi. He is no stranger to success in South Korea, where he won the Korean Championship last season at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club.
A repeat performance at the Genesis Championship will require him to book a flight to the UAE for the play-offs.
Last season's Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship winner Victor Perez will also miss the play-offs after failing to finish in the top 70.
The Frenchman, who became the first Frenchman to win a Rolex Series event last year, has spent much of the season on the PGA Tour after earning tournament privileges through the 2023 Battle of Dubai.
This limited his appearances on the DP World Tour to eight events, keeping him out of the top 120 in the rankings.
