The DP World Tour suspended England's Marco Penge on Wednesday after an independent disciplinary panel found he had placed bets on multiple golf events.
Penge, 26, was due to serve a three-month ban from last Friday but was banned for a month for a further breach of the integrity scheme, which will last for a year. He is eligible to return to action on February 13, 2025.
Penge was also fined approximately $2,500.
According to European Tour rules, Penge “did not place bets on himself or the progression of the event during the days he participated in the event, leading the panel to find that the integrity of such events was not compromised.”
The panel also noted that Penge “immediately admitted the violations and cooperated throughout the investigation, necessitating the mitigating effects of the sanctions ultimately imposed.”
Penji is ranked 414th in the world and has advanced 19 times in 28 games this year. He most recently competed in the Australian Open in November, finishing tied for 27th.
