LIV Golf's Ian Poulter has reportedly been stripped of his sponsorship exemption for next month's Dunhill Links Championship by the DP World Tour due to unpaid fines rinse.
Last season, the 48-year-old Poulter decided to end his longtime membership of the DP World Tour in response to the fine and ban he received for his ties to the Saudi-funded LIV Golf League.
It is understood that Poulter has not paid the fine to the DP World Tour and, as a result of the termination of his DP World Tour membership, he is no longer eligible to participate in DP World Tour events or in the Ryder Cup as a player or future captain.

Poulter was one of several LIV golfers who lost arbitration against the DP World Tour last season.
The English player was one of many European Ryder Cup heroes to tear up his DP World Tour card last season.
Other players include Lee Westwood, Sergio Garcia, Henrik Stenson and Graeme McDowell.
Westwood and Stenson serve as co-captains with Poulter for the LIV golf team, Majesticks GC.
Earlier this week, Poulter told the media that he hopes to continue to serve as captain of the European Ryder Cup team one day.
Rory McIlroy weighed in on the topic ahead of this week’s BMW PGA Tournament at Wentworth.
Ian Poulter turns down sponsor's invitation to play Dunhill Links by DP World Tour
According to popular golf social media account @FlushingItGolf, Johan Rupert requested Poulter be given a sponsor exemption to compete in the 2024 Dunhill Links Championship, which will be held at St. Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns from October 3-6.
But the DP World Tour reportedly rejected Poulter's invitation to play because he had not paid a fine, which is understood to be more than £1 million.
so far, 14 LIV golfers will compete at Dunhill Links.
The two players on LIV Golf were Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton, both of whom were allowed to return to the DP World Tour after appealing their fines.
Rahm and Hatton need to play at least four regular events on the DP World Tour to not only maintain their membership but also their eligibility for the Ryder Cup next September.
They can do that now, and if they qualify for the DP World Tour playoffs in November, they might get to play more.
In the latest developments in the Rahm and Hatton Ryder Cup saga, Guardian Evan Murray revealed in an interview with newly promoted DP World Tour CEO Guy Kinnings that the appeal process could extend beyond the biennial tournament at Bethpage Black in New York from September 26-28, 2025.
Earlier this week it was announced that the PGA of America will allow LIV Golf players to join Keegan Bradley’s U.S. Ryder Cup team.

Brooks Koepka, a five-time major champion and LIV Golf record holder for five titles, will also be in action at Dunhill Links, as will former Masters champion Patrick Reed.
It is understood that 10 of the 14 confirmed invitations to the Dunhill Links Championship are from LIV Golf.
Here are the 14 LIV golfers who will compete on the DP World Tour Dunhill Golf Links
- Jon Rahm
- Tyrell Hatton
- Brooks Koepka
- Taylor Gooch
- Patrick Reed
- Pat Perez
- Hudson Swofford
- David Puig
- Eugenio Chakala
- Louis Oosthuizen
- Brandon Grace
- Dean Burmeister
- Peter Uihlein
- Matt Jones
It’s worth noting that Branden Grace was demoted from LIV Golf Chicago last week.
The South African remains a member of the Stinger GC team and will compete in the LIV Golf season-ending team championship this week at Maridoe Golf Club in Dallas.
The only way for Grace to return to LIV golf is through an LIV promotion event later this season, or through the Asian Tour’s International Series.
Rahm and Hatton were among players unable to compete in this week’s BMW PGA at Wentworth, the flagship event of the DP World Tour season, because of a clash with the LIV Team Golf Championship.
With the LIV golf season coming to an end this week, it means Legion XIII duo Rahm and Hatton will be able to focus fully on the DP World Tour for the remainder of the season.
Rahm won his second victory of the season last weekend in Chicago and was crowned the LIV Golf Individual Champion.
Hatton finished fourth on the season and earned his first win in Nashville.
