DP World Tour Championship:
The 2024 DP World Tour season ends this week in Dubai.
Rory McIlroy has an almost insurmountable lead to win the season-long Race to Dubai and is favorite at 4/1 to win the season final at the Globe, where he has won twice ( 2012 and 2015).
Tyrrell Hatton (6/1) has finished runner-up here twice (2016, 2022).
Tommy Fleetwood (8/1) was the runner-up last year and in 2019. He won at Dubai Creek earlier this year but has yet to win at Jumeirah Golf Estates, where he has the Tommy Fleetwood Golf Academy Golf Academy).
Joaquin Niemann (12/1) is here to win valuable OWGR points and re-qualify himself for next year's majors.
Shane Lowry (16/1) hasn't finished worse than 13th by any means over the past three months.
Matt Wallace tied for second here last year and tied for third last week in Abu Dhabi. He is priced at 20/1 with Robert McIntyre.
Last week's winner in Abu Dhabi, Paul Waring, is priced at 75/1.
event
The DP World Tour Championship was established in 2009 when the Race to Dubai replaced the previous European Tour money list. DP World, the global port operator headquartered in Dubai and formed in 2005 through the merger of Dubai Ports Authority and Dubai International Ports, is the title sponsor of the event. There are only 50 contestants competing this week. Contestants will compete for a $10 million prize, with the winner taking home $3 million. The Vardon Trophy, named after six-time annual golf champion Harry Vardon, is awarded to the Race to Dubai points winner.
Unlike the Tour Championship on the PGA Tour, there is no separate starting market because there is no starting bid for this event.
field
The top 50 players on the Dubai Race standings will compete in the DP World Tour finals this week. Jon Rahm just welcomed his second child, Ludvig Aberg, who is recovering from surgery.

course
The Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates has hosted the event every year since its inception.
The track was designed by Greg Norman and opened in 2009. The course is 7,706 yards long, with two par 5s exceeding 625 yards, including the tough par 4 No. 9, which is 500 yards, and the par 3 17th, which is 195 yards. Play to the island green. The greens are large, undulating Bermuda grass that runs about 12.5 on the speedometer. There is water on the final three holes and there are 99 bunkers on the fairway.
Although the course is long, it is still easy to achieve results. Still, those hitters who are particularly good with the long irons should have success here, and staying away from the tee won't hurt either.
DP World Tour's YouTube provides a hole-by-hole aerial view of Earth's courses.

Trends and angles
Every winner here has had at least one top-seven finish in the previous six events.
In 15 games, there are four defending champions here (Stenson, McIlroy, Rahm, Fitzpatrick).
anthology
Tommy Fleetwood 8/1 Caesars Sportsbook
While the squad only has 50 players, it will be a short-lived expense for Fleetwood, who have won just twice in the past five seasons despite currently ranking in the top 10 in the world.
Still, it makes intuitive sense.
Fleetwood ranks first in strokes gained: goals and green control. Additionally, he ranks second in rushing, second in scoring average (behind McIlroy), and third in strokes gained: total.
Matt Wallace 20/1 FanDuel
Wallace tied for third with McIlroy last week and tied for runner-up here last year.
He was trying to make the Ryder Cup team for the first time after winning in the Swiss Alps a few months ago, and a win here would likely seal a spot.
