If the past few years of the DP World Tour have taught us anything, it's that the tour formerly known as the European Tour is now a much more global tour.
Like 2024, the 2025 schedule emphasizes this concept, as almost every continent will host tournaments, with the exception of South America.
However, next year's DP World Tour schedule includes a number of changes, including a return to Turkey, Austria, and the Irish K Club, which hosts the 2006 Ryder Cup. South Africa's Nedbank Challenge is also back on the calendar – with Gary Player Country Club in Sun City hosting. But as additions come, so do subtractions. The Porsche European Open, won by former LIV golfer Laurie Canter last June, will not be on the schedule. Neither will the Andalusia Masters, which Frenchman Julien Guerrier won in a nine-hole playoff in October.
That said, as in 2024, the DP World Tour has a schedule based on three distinct stages. During the bulk of the PGA Tour's schedule, five “Global Tour” events will be played. The first swing competition of its kind, the Opening Swing Competition, will be held in Brisbane on November 21, kicking off the BMW Australian PGA Championship. The ISPS Handa Australian Open will be held next week. Three events, two of them in South Africa, will conclude this initial shift before the calendar officially turns to 2025.
The International Swing Championship kicks off in January in the Middle East, highlighted by the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. Rory McIlroy will start his season by returning to Dubai to defend his title from a year ago. This part of the schedule will take place in Bahrain, Kenya and South Africa and ends on March 9.

Next up is the Swing Asia, starting with the Porsche Singapore Classic. The Hero India Open and Volvo China Open will be followed by the Masters in April. Another event is scheduled for April 24-27 in Asia, but has yet to be confirmed. No matter what events occur, the third part of the schedule will come to an end.
The fourth swing, the “European Swing”, features many familiar stops in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. But the competition will kick off in Antalya, Turkey, where the best players on the DP World Tour will compete at the Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort on the Mediterranean coast. Two other big changes for this round include the return of the Austrian Open, which will be played at the Jack Nicklaus-designed Golf Club Guter Altenten in Salzburg. The course hosted the Austrian Open from 1990 to 1992, with Bernhard Langer defeating Lanny Wadkins in a playoff in 1990. Another new development involves the Italian Open, which will move from the Marco Simone Golf Club in Rome to the Argentario Golf Club outside Tuscany.
The final “finishing swing” kicks off at the Genesis Scottish Open, the first of three co-sanctioned events on the PGA Tour. The ISCO Championship in Louisville, Ky., will be held the same week, and the Barracuda Championship on the shores of Lake Tahoe will once again coincide with golf's oldest major. After the Royal Portrush Open, the DP World Tour will pause for three weeks before hosting two tournaments in the Czech Republic and Denmark.
The highlight of the DP World Tour calendar comes in late August when the PGA Tour concludes the FedEx Cup Playoffs. This is not a coincidence, but a strategic strategy from the top management of DP World Tour. Their aim is to try to lure top talent back to Europe for the “Back 9”, which is part of a nine-game tournament that includes some of the most lucrative events.
'Back 9' kicks off with the Betfred British Masters at The Belfy from 21st to 24th August, hosted by Sir Nick Faldo. This is followed by the OMEGA European Masters, held annually at Crans-sur-Sierra in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, one of the most scenic courses in the world.
The Agenham Irish Open returns to the K Club ahead of the DP World Tour's flagship event, the BMW PGA Championship in Wentworth, England. Then, the week before the Ryder Cup, the FedEx French Open will take place, but the National Golf Club will not host it. Instead, Golf de Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche, another course in the Paris region, will host the golf course for the first time since Seve Ballesteros won the title in 1982. Come to the DP World Tour.
There are four events following the Ryder Cup, including the prestigious Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at St Andrews. The Spanish Open will also return to Madrid's Campovilla Club, while the Genesis Championship will once again be held in South Korea to conclude the 'Top 9'. But the DP World Tour will have an opening weekend on October 12th. 16-19 – Events to be announced. Last year, the Andalusia Masters was held then. It remains to be seen whether the tournament in southern Spain will return to this position.
The final two events of the DP World Tour season will be held again in the Middle East in November. The top 70 players in the Dubai Race standings will qualify for the Abu Dhabi Championship, the first DP World Tour playoffs. The top 50 players will then advance to the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai from November 13-16, 2025.
