Cam Smith and Elvis Smylie lead, the par 3s are under threat, and Todd Sinnott is a strong contender for birdie of the year.
Everything you need to know about Saturday's postponed second round clash in Brisbane.
Smith and Smiley lead Australia deadlock
Cam Smith had his lowest round of the second day to share the lead with Elvis Smylie on the Australian leaderboard at Royal Queensland Golf Club. Due to nearly 250mm of rain in seven days, Friday's tournament was canceled and the number of tournaments reduced to 54 holes. The delay didn't stop Smith from finishing with seven birdies and one shot in his outstanding 65. “It's good,” Smith said. “Today was a better day and you always have a smile on your face and yeah, obviously the golf was pretty good too. Started really solid and kept it going. Maybe a few bad shots at the end but you're pretty good throughout the golf It’s something to look forward to in the game, so, all in all, I think it’s my home event and it’s always nice to compete here.”
But Smith isn't alone. The 22-year-old chipped in from a bunker on the final hole to take the first-round lead on Thursday, and he birdied No. 18 for a 4-under 67 to join his countrymen. Get to the top. There were only five non-Australian players in the top 16. “I had really good grades,” Smiley said. “Birdie on 16, then hit a really good two-putt on 17 from a tricky spot. And then hit a really nice wedge on the last hole for birdie. Nice 5-footer. I think I'm tied for the lead, so I'm in a good position for tomorrow's game.”
Rutherford almost plays his second ace of the season
Just two rounds later, Jamie Rutherford nearly had his second hole-in-one of the 2025 DP World Tour season with a close shot on the par-3 11th hole. South Korea's MK Kim also achieved the same result in Thursday's opening round, despite the fact that the British player has a brand new BMW i5.
Party Hole Nearly Denied
The party hole at the Royal Queensland Golf Club on the 17th lived up to its name and their efforts were almost rewarded by Marco Penge. An ace on the par-3 hole on Saturday would have given the registered crowd a share of $1,000,000, and the Briton came close to making them even richer.

Sinnott's silky hole
It's hard to describe how outrageous Todd Sinnott's birdie hole-in on the par-3 11th was, so just keep it to yourself. Ridiculous!
