Akshay Bhatia makes his DP World Tour debut this week at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. After playing a few rounds, he noted that European Tour players practice more than PGA Tour pros.
While attending the Hero Dubai Desert Classic for the first time, Bhatia had a brief Q&A session with DP World Tour and answered some interesting questions. One of the questions was about the differences he noticed between the European Tour and the PGA Tour.
“Yeah, people train a lot more than the PGA Tour,” he responded. “I mean, this golf course is really good. It's a really good test and, you know, it's getting really solid, so it's a good challenge.”
Bhatia also revealed that looking at cars and license plates is his favorite thing in Dubai. When asked about his favorite cars, he didn't specify but mentioned McLaren, Lamborghini and Bugatti.
The two-time PGA Tour winner was also asked what prompted him to compete in the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.
“Coming to Dubai has always been on my bucket list,” he replied. “I didn't want to miss this opportunity to play in this tournament, you know, enjoy a different tour and play in front of some amazing people.”
