The 60-player roster for next month's men's golf competition at the 2024 Summer Olympics was finalized Monday.
The tournament will be held from August 1 to 4 at the Guyancourt National Golf Course, the site of the 2018 Ryder Cup and the venue of the DP World Tour French Open since 1991.
The 60 players were qualified based on the International Golf Federation's official world rankings as of Monday. The top 15 players in the official World Golf Ranking are eligible, with a maximum of four players per country. The rest of the field is determined directly from the International Golf Federation rankings.
American Xander Schauffele will return to the Olympics to defend the gold medal he won four years ago, along with fellow Americans Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark and Collin Morikawa.
Patrick Cantlay tied for third at the U.S. Open on Sunday and moved up to eighth in the world rankings, but was narrowly defeated by No. 7 Morikawa. Bryson DeChambeau captured his second U.S. Open title at Pinehurst, but he finished as the sixth-ranked American and 10th in the world rankings.
Meanwhile, Canada's Corey Conners moved up one spot over compatriot Adam Hadwin to 37th in the world rankings after finishing tied for ninth at Pinewood.
