The DP World Tour Championship at the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai in November marks the culmination of the tour’s season-long Race to Dubai.
There, some of the world's top players will meet to compete for the Harry Vardon Trophy, which has been awarded to the winner of the Race to Dubai since 2009.
To have a chance of finishing at the top of the standings and being named Europe’s No. 1, players must compete in at least four scoring events (excluding Grand Slams) during the 2024 season.
This year's season consists of three phases, with 44 tournaments held in 24 countries on five continents – the Global Wave Phase, the Back Nine and two finals, and the DP World Tour Playoffs, including the Abu Dhabi Championship and the DP World Tour Championship.
3,000 Race to Dubai Ranking points will be awarded at each regular Global Swing event, increasing to 5,000 points for the final nine events. The Abu Dhabi Championship will award 9,000 points and the DP World Tour Championship will award 12,000 points.
Additionally, the first two Rolex Series events will offer 8,000 points each, and the third event, the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, will offer the same number of points.
Players accumulate points throughout the season, and the player who finishes at the top of the standings wins a trophy.
In addition to prize money from every tournament throughout the season, the top 10 finishers at the Race to Dubai will share a $6 million prize pool.
Rory McIlroy has confirmed his participation in the DP World Tour Championship, having won the Race to Dubai five times in the past two seasons. He is in the lead again following his victory at the Dubai Desert Classic in January.
Whoever wins the 2024 Dubai Race will receive $2 million in prize money. Here's how the $6 million will be distributed among the top 10.
