It's a pair of familiar faces on the PGA Tour, and on Sunday they'll go head-to-head for one of the most important titles on the DP World Tour.
Billy Horschel defeated Rory McIlroy in the second playoff to win the 2024 BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club in Surrey, England. Horschel made eagle on the par-5 18th hole to defeat McIlroy, whose eagle attempt slipped to the right of the hole.
Horschel birdied regulation to enter a playoff with McIlroy and Sriston Lawrence, who was eliminated after the first playoff hole, the par-5 18th hole. McIlroy had a 25-foot birdie shot in regulation but missed.
To reward him for his efforts, Horschel will receive $1.53 million of his $9 million purse.
